And Poof.... 5 months have passed!
So, we have a 5 1/2 month old now who is amazing. She is rolling both ways and trying to crawl, jumping in her johny jump up and talking, cooing, flirting with any manner of adult or child. She is, in short, such a joy to have around. The boys are enamored with her and just love trying to help out around the house with her.
That being said, her arrival has caused them to be true brothers. real brothers. aka they fight now. it's alarming to me, not having had brothers growing up. They one-up each other and can't seem to be in the same room together without kicking, kung-fu-ing one another, picking on some part of each other or calling foul to me at the slightest thing the other did wrong. Needless to say, it has been "challenging" to have them do this all day. I'm trying to crack down on them and make sure they don't hurt each other, separate them, put them in time-out, swat their bottoms, take legos away, the list goes on and on. Simply put, I'm trying everything I can to make them into civilized creatures. Say a prayer for me that they will turn out normal.
Time will tell, I guess!
I have finally put some more pics on Flickr but there is a giant hole in May and into June from my back surgery. We took one picture in May so, sadly, that month the kids lives aren't documented, but now I can walk, so it's a good trade-off I think.
Summer was lots of swim team in June (including 5 hour long swim meets) and lots of pool time with the Davidsons who have just left for their next post, Virginia Beach, Va. We went tubing, went to the beach for a week with the Joyce clan, went to the varsity, and the park countless times, fishing. We really did have a good summer.
And now Brendan has settled comfortably into the routine of a second grader and Aidan is making it known that he does NOT like Pre-k. He just wants to be home with us and he knows that his little sister whom he loves and mom and dad are at home while he is at school. It must be hard for him to know that but we are talking up school and all the fun things about it and hopefully every week after this one will be easier.
So enjoy the pics. Sorry for the delay. )
