He's a Live one

Aidan had minor outpatient surgery today at Children's Healthcare here in Atlanta. I was so impressed with every single nurse and doctor that helped us there. They know what they are doing!
So, we wake up early, deny him liquids, get to the surgery center, check in, wait, color, wait, meet the first nurse, wait, meet the 2nd nurse, change him into his little gown, change mommy into her gown and hat, then aidan demands his own hat (hairnet type thing), meet the charge nurse, see our surgeon, meet the aftercare nurse and then wait. So you get it, we have waited a few times by now (not ever for a long time) and aidan is decked out in his Batman undies, his hairnet, his gown, playing little tykes basketball in the room waiting for the anesthesiologist and in she walks...... what does Aidan choose to say? "Do you wanna, Do you wanna, Do you wanna piece of meeee?" Thanks to our friend Dory in Finding Nemo. We had a laugh.
So apparently after surgery, most kids are groggy and take a minute to wake up. Not our dear Aidan! He woke up screaming, flailing arms and legs, trying to pull out his IV and screaming for me. I was waiting for him in the recovery room and the nurse comes running in, with him, his IV, practically naked, wanting to get him calmed down. When he was settled in my lap and had stopped screaming, she said. "Wow, he's a live one! We haven't had one like that in a while!".
WE are home and he is doing well with his matchbox cars, peanut butter M&M's, Tylenol with Codeine and Cars the Movie. We are so glad he is home and fine!
