My baby turns 6.

"So Brendan, you had fun being a 5 year old, right?"
"Yeah!"
"So, why can't we just re-do the year. On April 28, you'll turn 5 again and we'll just do it even better. Do you want to be 5 for another year?"
"No. I want to be 6. 6 will be AWESOME!!"
sigh "Okay, you can turn 6".

He is 1/3 of the way done/out/finished/grown up. In 3 years, he will be halfway to 18 and out of our house! How sad is that! It's great for him to be growing up and learning new things and becoming such an amazing young man. But, heavens to betsy! He is so grown up already! It makes me excited for him and makes me treasure having him around now!

He had a great last minute, pizza and cupcake get-together for dinner on Monday. Some neighbors and some of his pals from his class and their families came over. We had a great time!

We love you, Brendan! Happy Birthday, Kiddo!

Aunt Buddy Runs again!

Aunt Buddy ran the Georgia ING marathon again this year and we braved the chilly temps to go cheer her on. It was so cold the boys had the blanket covering their head and when a pack of runners would come by, they would pop their heads out and yell "way to go, runners!" or "good job". The runners seemed to get a kick out of it.

Way to go Colleen! we love you@

Touch a Truck - Decatur

Whoever thought of this was brilliant!

The aquarium

While Sheilah, Rob and their kids were in town we went to the aquarium. Nolan loved the beluga whales and talked about them all day. He even came home and drew the coolest picture of them. Notice, Aidan has his spiderman costume on. Everyday is a spiderman day!

Baby Evan comes to visit

Uncle Daniel (bucky) and baby evan came by to visit one morning and the boys inaugurated him into the world of dress up play!

Spiderman

This is not trick photography. He really can climb the door frame.
I have never done this or wanted to this but Bryan assured me that he
did this as a 5 year old as well. Now, how long do I have before both boys can do it? :)

Dr. Eaton

The boys went to their first dental visit together a few weeks ago and it was great! I was worried about Aidan crying or being sad about it, but with Brendan by his side he was a champ! Look at those pearly whites!

Puzzles

The boys love puzzles. The harder the better. But, they have learned the best place to do a puzzle? Oh- the middle of the kitchen floor! Why a table or their room? They like to be in the middle of the action!

The checklist

1 can red spray paint, check
1 can green spray paint, check
newspapers, check
wooden 911 sign, check
safety googles, check

Ready to do their first supervised spray painting following a Lowes Kids Workshops!

The carousel makes me dizzy......

.....When you ride it 5 times in a row to make it worth buying the little purple arm bands. Every child had to ride a different animal each time, which put Julie and I constantly putting them on, taking them off and trying to walk while the thing was moving. We love the zoo!

Yellow River

So the quote for this day and the several following weeks was. "remember that one time at yellow river game ranch there was a humongous chicken that was a turkey?" Aidan would out of nowhere say this at dinner or in the car or before going to sleep. Very funny.
